MiniMax-MCP is the official MiniMax Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables interaction with Text to Speech and video/image generation APIs. Through this server, MCP clients can generate speech, clone voices, generate video, generate images and more. MiniMax-MCP-JS is the official JavaScript implementation of MiniMax MCP. MiniMax CLI (mmx-cli) is an official command-line tool with the latest models and additional features including text, vision, and search.

Who it is for

The server supports two transport types: stdio and sse. The stdio transport runs locally. The stdio transport communicates through stdout.

For stdio, input supports processing local files or valid URL resources. SSE can be deployed locally or in the cloud. SSE communicates through the network.

When SSE is deployed in the cloud, using a URL for input is recommended. Using these tools may incur costs. The API key needs to match the host.

For an invalid API key error, ensure the API key and API host are regionally aligned. To enable Developer Mode, click Help in the hamburger menu in the top left and select Enable Developer Mode. The query_video_generation tool queries the result of a video generation task.

For generate_video in async-mode, completion rules are defined before starting. These rules can be configured in IDE settings, for example Cursor. MiniMax CLI works as an AI agent skill for Claude Code, Cursor, OpenClaw, etc.
