Before making slides with Gamma: check credits, seats and the badge

Based on Gamma's official help pages: free-plan starting credits do not refresh, paid plans bill per member with a capped rollover, and removing the badge does not mean the content is completely watermark-free.

Pricing for AI presentation tools is often summed up as “start free” and “so many credits a month”. Three things actually move a budget: how credits are spent, whether each person on a team pays a separate seat, and what still applies after the badge is removed. This guide organises what Gamma's official help pages said when rechecked on 2026-10-27 into an order of checks before paying. We did not generate presentations, and we do not rank prices.

Three questions to ask before subscribing to Gamma

  1. Is the free allowance enough?

The free plan has one-time starting credits that do not refresh; referral rewards come with conditions and a cap.[1]

  2. How are paid credits issued and rolled over?

Paid tiers issue credits monthly, and unused credits roll over only up to a limit.[2]

  3. Who gets billed on a team?

Paid plans bill per workspace member, and every member is on the same tier.[3]

This is a checking order. How fast credits are spent depends on the action, so this guide does not give a fixed “number of decks”.

Free plan: when the starting credits run out you upgrade or earn more

Gamma's help page says the free plan has no time limit and does not need a credit card. It starts with 400 credits, and free-plan credits do not refresh. A referral earns 200 credits, and a free account can hold up to 2,000 credits at once. These are conditional rewards rather than a monthly free allowance.[1]

Generating presentations, generating images and AI-agent edits all consume credits. The amount varies with the model, the length and the complexity, so it is not a fixed “credits per deck”. How many decks 400 credits can cover depends on how you use them.[1]

Per-member billing: every extra person adds a bill

The help pages say paid plans are billed per workspace member, and every member uses the same tier. Adding a member charges for the seat immediately, prorated for the rest of the cycle. Removing a member does not lower the bill by itself; you must reduce the billed seats manually.[3]

Monthly billing renews automatically and can be cancelled before the next payment, keeping access through the current cycle. Annual billing is one upfront payment for twelve months. This site did not obtain an exact subscription amount, and the monthly figure in the help page is only an example for explaining billing, not a price for any tier.[2]

  • Count the people who will actually edit presentations before deciding how many paid seats you need.
  • When someone leaves, remove the member and also lower the billed seats by hand.
  • A mid-cycle upgrade charges the prorated difference, and it applies to every seat.

Removing the badge is not the same as no watermark

Paid tiers such as Plus remove the “Made with Gamma” badge from shared and exported content. That is the official statement about this badge only. This site does not conclude that no other watermark exists, and has not verified commercial-use rights, regions or language results. For public or commercial use, check the official terms separately.[2]

Keep this checklist before paying

  • Usage: roughly how many decks a month, and how much image generation and AI editing?
  • Credits: do the free starting credits cover a trial, and do the paid monthly credits and rollover cap fit?
  • Members: who needs edit access, and how will seat counts follow staff changes?
  • Badge: must shared or exported content be free of the brand badge?
  • Terms: have commercial use, region, language and export limits been confirmed on the official page?
  • Unknowns: what has no official statement? Keep it pending rather than filling in a number.

These are editorial checking steps. We did not register an account, generate a presentation or subscribe to a paid plan. Prices and credits can change, so confirm on Gamma's official page before you pay. This guide only checks official material and includes no hands-on task testing; task testing on this site is not yet done.
